Description
This is a collectible and very rare large Vase.Measures 12-1/2" tall by 7" wide over all, top rim flares to 4-1/2" wide, base is 3-1/2" wide
This is Japanese in origin. It is Moriage pottery featuring the raised motif of birds flying at sunrise or sunset. The reeds and leaves are raised as well, the bright vivid background is hand painted. The aqua blue / turquoise beading all through out is gorgeous even though these are the spots that have the most wear which is typical for this design on the few examples I have seen in archives.
This piece was made circa 1890-1910 during the Meiji period, it is from Japan and it is Nippon ware, but not signed.
Condition: It is a lovely piece and has been displayed in my collection for a long time. But it looks like its age which all of these do now days. The pottery glaze has the fine crazing which can be seen at the undecorated rim and base area. And as normal there are a few small turquoise beads missing around the rim as seen in the last picture above (there are about 85 beads or so around the rim and I would say 14 or so have chips, or missing. these little balls can be restored back on with glaze/enamel paint to repair for display if desired. But I did not see any missing areas on the sides of the vase or in the design so that is amazing for its age actually.

*No Returns/Refunds Policy*...Please Note that we do not accept returns or refunds for buyer's remorse. This is for 2 reasons- I provide photos of the exact items and not stock pictures so you can always see the exact item you will get. Also all of our auctions are "Free Shipping" to our buyers, but I still have to buy postage and it is expensive! I cant give full refunds on items when I cant get refunds on my shipping cost. Please see the many pictures above, read our descriptions, and ask all questions before bidding... Thank you
*Damaged in shipment*... All of my items are insured against damage in transit, I pay extra for this! Do not ship items back for damage because this voids an insurance claim. Partial losses are paid as such by USPS/FEDEX, we don't refund 10 glasses because 1 broke and neither do they. All insurance claims are filed online now & there may be a delay in how long it takes the Shipper to process the refund, also USPS claims may require items to be physically taken the post office for inspection should they ask for them- We must have photos of the damaged item and the damage to the exterior of the box to process claims online, so you will need to be able to send us digital photos.
*Items lost in shipment or not received*... If they are lost in transit, we will be required to wait the specified time by the shipper to file the insurance claim- there is no other way to do this as that is their rules and we will have to wait their time limits.
